Election Process
The president and council are elected at each general chapter of the
federation. Sister Sharon McHugh (Elizabeth) presented to the
delegates an alternative plan for the election process. This included
an election process that would begin prior to the chapter. Delegates
would be asked to submit names for the president during the year
prior to the chapter. The discernment process would include
asking those with sufficient nominations if they were willing to
remain as candidates for the president. In this way, a slate for
president would be available at the time of the chapter. This would
allow greater time for candidates to discern their opitions. After
careful consideration the pre-chapter voted to accept this new
discernment process for the election at the general chapter.
